Our Story

2002 we started in a living room with just a handful of people. God had birthed a vision in Pastor Chris' heart and we began building together. The Lord opened an amazing door for us to rent the Silver Screen Movie Theater on Sunday mornings. We were successfully able to have a spot to do ministry at a greater level. This required forming a team to set up and tear down weekly. But this created such a momentum among the people to be a part of something new that God was birthing. God used us to reach the owners of the theater and they got saved and joined in the church as well. We were able to do ministry here for quite a while. But just like God, He had more instore for Destiny Church...

Next we began to seek the Lord for a more permanent location to hold our growing church family. The Lord made a way for us to rent & then purchase a building in Woolmarket that was previously used for a church that closed down. This was such a wonderful day as we could finally set down roots and decorate our kids ministry and make a place of our own. We did ministry for almost 17 years in Woolmarket & many lives were touched & radically changed during our season there. To God be the glory... but He still wasn't done yet...

Pastor Chris kept seeing a vacant building a few miles away from our church and the Lord kept drawing his attention to it. One day he reached out to walk around the building only to find out it was almost exactly the building we had purchased plans to build in Woolmarket. It seemed beyond our reach but our team felt led to place an offer on the building and see what happened. To our shock and awe they accepted our offer & we began to remodel and move in 3 months later. We are currently living in a HUGE yes to the Lord in Gulfport, MS. We firmly believe that God has placed us here for a reason. There are so many lost and hurting people in this area and we are so grateful to be a part of what God is doing in this city! We moved in the building April 2019  on Easter Sunday & we are still looking forward to all God has in store for Destiny Church along the Gulf Coast!
